"Put your trust in God and then you won't be so sad."
Sister Bonifacia's mom repeated this line to her in the years after her father died, leaving her and her mom. She was only six at the time. Many years later she left Germany when the German government (led by Otto von Bismark) passed laws that prevented religious orders to teach. Mother Pauline (who later visited Westphalia and later became a saint) encouraged the Sisters not to give up. Soon after, Sr. Bonifacia left Germany; she traveled to Pennsylvania and Minnesota before continuing on to St. Mary, Westphalia. There's much more to her story!!
